Malgosia Stepnik

Malgosia Stepnik, a Polish artist hailing from 1978, currently resides in the UK and is a prominent figure in the VirginiaVisualArts scene. Her artistic endeavors are driven by a profound purpose: to inspire individuals to surpass the apparent and the familiar, transcending the confines of conventional beliefs. Her creative mission revolves around embarking on a voyage of the mind and body, seeking to unravel new dimensions. Stepnik passionately strives to reshape conventional viewpoints, employing her art as a conduit to access the subconscious and fostering a contemplative painting process. The circular forms represent the underlying current of our existence - which Einstein compared to a “sea of energy”. Since her graduation in 2008 Malgosia has produced and directed five solo shows independently. Her "Journey to Self" was far the most ambitious one, where she introduced film, light and sound installation, as well as drawings and paintings. "Journey to Self"- was a personal reflection on the internal discoveries she has made through her process of making art. Stepnik was represented by Scream Gallery before its closure, where she had three successful group and solo shows. Malgosia has been also actively involved in charity programmes, participating in The Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund Auction 2011 and The Macmillan De'Longhi Art Auction 2011, and most recently supporting the Migration Museum in London.
